Dec 7, 2020 · Great Sword Recommended Upgrade. At first glance, with the stat scaling, the Great Sword could be a good weapon for a Magic Warrior Build. However, the Dragon Bone Smasher is a much better option for that path. However, for a Faith-based build, this weapon can be upgraded to a Blessed one that scales with Faith. It starts at +3 on some weapon types (including straight swords like the claymore) and +0 on other weapon types (such as 1-handed blunt hammers), unless that has changed in the remake for consistency's sake.
